Stargazing & Dark Skies

Dark Skies - Number 9 Carhampton

Dark Skies

Discover Exmoor's Dark Skies

Dark skies refer to areas with minimal light pollution, where natural darkness prevails, allowing the stars to shine brightly and celestial objects to be seen with greater clarity. Light pollution, caused by excessive artificial lighting in urban areas, can hinder the visibility of celestial bodies and reduce the overall experience of stargazing.

Fantastic holiday, beautiful cottage so clean and had everything you needed. Have already recommended to family and friends

We had a superb week at Number 9. Fantastic location, able to walk from the house to the beach, and through the deer park with lovely views to Dunster. Also great base for exploring Exmoor. The house is perfect, one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. Garden fully enclosed for the dog, and he loved all the walks. We had good communication with the housekeeper. Our only small issue was we didn't find the sofa that comfortable, but honestly not really a problem, and we very much hope to stay there again

A lovely cottage with all the home comforts you could need. Location is perfect for exploring the region, Dunster & Minehead practically on your doorstep & Exmoor, Porlock & Lynmouth a scenic drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days & Ace the dog had the time of his life. We definitely be back.

Convenient location, modern property, private garden and bedrooms at back of property.

Excellent location in Carhampton. Easy walking access to Dunster.

Great location, nicely decorated, good shower

Perfect property perfectly clean. And immaculately kept Has a really lovely time. Fantastic value

Cottage was beautiful and brand new and is excellently equipped. If you have any problem the owners are only email away and will sort anything that needs sorting. Village has a pub which was cosy and Dunster is dreamy village. I would move there in a heartbeat. Minehead is 10 minutes drive away.
